Limietberg Nature Reserve hiking trail permits

A retreat from the city, a retreat into nature.

McBains is proud to announce its partnership with CapeNature with regards to selling permits for the following Limietberg Nature Reserve hiking trails: Rockhopper, Bobbejaans River Waterfall, and Happy Valley Trail.

Please note

  • Permits are obtainable from McBains between 08h00 – 13h00.
  • Permits are available for purchase at R50 per adult and R30 per child.
  • Wild Card holders can gain free access to the above trails. Please bring your Wild Card details and ID or driver’s licence.
  • Office hours for permit sales are 08h00 – 13h00 (the latest you can enter), and the trails are open until 18h00 (that’s the latest you can exit).
  • On payment of your permit, or proof of previous online purchase, you will be issued with a gate code to access the nature reserve. This code changes daily and can’t be issued in advance.
  • Arrive at the McBains reception, where you can ring a bell that is next to our blue front gate. One of our on-site managers will be there to assist you shortly.
  • We offer toilet facilities, WiFi, and cooldrinks for Cape Nature patrons wishing to buy permits from us and enjoy the Limietberg Reserve responsibly.
  • We have limited cell phone reception so are not available telephonically to assist with any queries. Rather email info@mcbains.co.za for queries.
